Shanti Marie attended CSUB (California State University Bakersfield) as a Fine Arts student and later studied Music and Art at CSUF (California State University Fresno).

After a successful career with a large California newspaper, she returned to her first love, Fine Art. She started learning watercolor technique and found the medium to be challenging and fun. She says "it doesn't always behave as expected and I like that".
